Beyoncé & Jay-Z welcome baby girl Blue Ivy Carter

Beyonce and hubby Jay -Z  are proud parents of baby girl Blue Ivy Carter. She delivered on the 7th of January via scheduled caesarean section at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City last night.

Here is a little explanation about her name:

• Ivy is in reference to the couple’s love of the number four – roman numeral for 4 is IV
• Beyoncé and Jay-Z were married on April 4, 2008
• Jay-Z’s birthday is December 4
• Beyoncé’s birthday is September 4
• Beyoncé and Jay-Z have matching IV tattoos on their wedding fingers
• The singer’s latest album is called 4 which was her fourth solo studio album
• Jay-Z has a trilogy of albums under The Blueprint banner which could have inspired his daughter’s name
• He has released The Blueprint, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse and The Blueprint 3

Legendary Music Producer, Quincy Jones has collaborated with Emirati social entrepreneur Badr Jafar, to jointly produce the Arabic charity single entitled ‘TOMORROW / BOKRA’. The song involves 24 leading Arab Artists from 16 nations across the Middle East and North Africa singing with one voice for a better tomorrow. Grammy-nominated international superstar Akon has also lent his vocals to the track, and Shakira, who is of Lebanese descent, has recorded a special introduction to the music video.

All funds raised as part of the single’s global distribution will be collected by the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture in support of the United Nations World Food Program, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation among others, to finance educational programs in music, arts and culture for children from across the Arab world.

Ikea is recalling its BUSA children’s tent. Reports have been received that the steel Wire frame breaks causing sharp wire ends to puncture the fabric thus injuring the child. two incident have been reported so far.

Teaching in Tanzania – A life changing experience

Last summer a very close friend of mine volunteered to teach at a school in Tanzania, a life changing experience that lasted for 3 weeks. I’m so proud of her! I’m sure she has made a difference in so many lives.

The other day she posted some pictures of her trip, they are breathtaking. The children, the view and the whole vibe of the pictures are so touching.

She promised to tell me all about it in detail very soon, I will definitely keep you updated on all her adventures and stories. Volunteering is something I would love to do in the future. Inshala when my babies are a little bit older.
