Breastfeeding is revolutionary ~ especially if your mother didn’t…your sisters or friends aren’t…or your work and other life circumstances make it difficult to support. All these scenarios are likely here in Kuwait where the exclusive breastfeeding rate at 3 months is only 12%. So the decision to breastfeed is counter culture, with large marketing industries and social pressures trying to convince you to do otherwise. For those of us who were raised by hippies…or at least mothers who believed everything that was natural was better (garlic paste under the feet or in drinks for illnesses, comfrey tea for congestion, homemade home-ground wheat bread)…it was a decision that was second nature. But if you are new to to breastfeeding, your decision could be revolutionary for you, your children, your sisters and friends, and everyone you influence. La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing support, encouragement, information, and education to women who want to breastfeed. All women who are pregnant and interested in breastfeeding and all mothers who are currently breastfeeding are invited to attend meetings for an enjoyable time … of mother-to-mother sharing. Babies and children are always welcome, and refreshments are provided.
The Series meetings rotate through four main breastfeeding topics, but always cover new ground as the moms in attendance share their experiences, and as different aspects of each topic are explored.
Please help spread the word so that any mother who could use some support in breastfeeding her child will be able to come!!

While browsing through Bebe au Lait’s fan page, I came across this beautiful picture of a Kuwaiti mommy using the Bebe au Lait nursing cover.
The caption underneath the picture said: “LA 2010 @ Madamme Tassaudes right next to Justin Timberlakes wax figure :p”
I loved the picture so much that I contacted her and asked if i could post it on our blog.
Thank you Zainab! Such a gorgeous picture
