Mompreneur Of The Week: Aziza AlGhunaim

I’m so excited to introduce our momprenuer of the week. She is a stay at home mommy of 4, self taught photographer and owner of Little Twinkles Photography, Aziza AlGhunaim. Just by looking at her photographs you can see that she has an amazing talent, her unconventional way of capturing those special moments is exquisite. Believe it our not she started her freelance business by coincidence!

“I have always loved photography but when I got my first DSLR Camera June 2008 I was really hooked. I found myself exploring a whole new world, nothing is the same again everything has a beauty within. I loved it so much that a year later I emailed my friends and family letting them know I am willing to photograph their families. That email was forwarded to a lot more people than I expected. People liked my photos and were asking for appointments and that is when I set a website and began the journey.”

The thing I LOVE MOST other than her amazing eye for detail is that she uses natural light when taking photographs. She can come to any location you want but at certain times of the day to capture the right amount of light. Here photographs are very natural and real, you can feel the love, excitement, and pure joy of the little children through her photographs.

She also takes food, flowers, and different macro shots for websites and business owners.

She is exactly what I have been looking for!

If you have fallen in love with her photographs as I have then book your appointment by emailing her at azyalg@gmail.com

Check out her facebook page and website for more precious photos.

Mompreneur of the week: Jumana Al-Awadhi

As soon as you meet her you are captivated by her bright smile. As soon as you speak to her you can hear the passion she has for what she does. Jumana Al-Awadhi author and artist, owner of welovekuwait.com, and a mother of two adorable children who are the inspiration behind her work. Here is her story of how it all began.

“After the birth of our son Dhari and like many new parents; we started reading to him (actually way before he was born). We ended up buying lots and lots of children’s books, but we always felt that something was missing in all of these books; it was simply the absence of a Kuwaiti touch. We felt a void that must be filled, so we started a research to see if other parents and educators felt the same way we did, and YES everybody shared our wish to see something Kuwaiti for our precious ones. Everyone we had interviewed offered their help for the execution of this project. After carefully studying the project and after numerous consultations… IT HAPPENED! We decided to create something original that embraces the Kuwaiti essence. The first series of books geared towards the Kuwaiti child, rich with developmental activities like reading, coloring, rhymes, puzzles and most importantly; these books carry very basic and vital messages about health, environmental and cultural issues.

We chose coloring as our theme because coloring is a well recognized and established method of children’s education. When children spend a long time focusing on a certain page coloring it, this makes them enjoy the message the picture is sending. If a child was to be fed the thoughts of throwing trash in the garbage bin through a coloring page with an environmental awareness theme; the child will think twice before he/she litters. Another example is coloring a page about healthy food, this coloring and learning process will most likely make the child eat home made food rather than unhealthy takeout.”

This is only a mere glimpse at what Jumana has achieved. She is an advocate for breastfeeding mothers, healthy nutrition and environmental awareness as well as running a blog that is filled with informative articles on parenting.

Check out her website for more information about her interactive coloring books as well as a link to her blog.
