The other day I was just getting ready to enroll Nodi into the Barcelona Football Club when I received a message from a friend that there is a new club in town. Arsenal Soccer School are opening their doors on the 17th of October. You can register now for both boys and girls, twice a week. There training camp is going to be at Gust University which is perfect because it’s close to my house.
Nodi is all excited! It looks very promising from their website. I will keep you posted on how it goes.
Check out their website for more information.

If you are looking for some fun outdoor toys for your little ones then I highly recommend the Straight Shot. It is like a mini roller coster for kids. The slide can be taken a part for an easy storage solution which is perfect for places with small gardens.

Nodi started his first riding lesson yesterday. He was so excited that he prepared everything he needed 2 days before his lesson *cute* . The class is 30 minutes which I think is perfect for his age. Throughout the lessons he will learn how to handle the horse, take directions from the trainer and gain confidence. The place is amazing, clean and has a nice calming atmosphere. I’m actually thinking of taking some classes myself.
Here are some snapshots of KRC.

I love how the weather is getting nicer and nicer each day. Now, the kids are able to go outside and play, finally! All the toys have been put outside so the kids can run and play around till their heart’s content. One toy in particular that I make sure is out is the bubble maker. I suggest every parent get one for their toddler. It kept Fizzle busy for so long and it seems like our dog is enjoying it as well.
With the lack of winter here in Kuwait I’m actually jealous of all the snow Europe and the United States are getting. I came across a blog this morning that had the most amazing pictures of a skating party held in their backyard. There were pitchers of hot coco, jar’s filled with glowing candles, big tubs filled with skates and a fire to keep them all nice and warm. I wish it snowed it Kuwait!
How cute are the snow flakes on the paper bags?
This is my favorite picture, I love it!

With the weather getting nicer each day, it was time for the kids to start some outdoor activities. Nodi decided that he would like start Soccer practice. After doing some research I found out about FC Barcelona in Kuwait. I contacted them and went to their office to register. The Club is located in Dasman Model School in Sharq. They get to practice 2 days a week either Saturday and Monday or Sunday and Tuesday. I chose Sunday and Tuesday so he has something to do during the week. They practice twice a week from 5 -6 pm and then on Thursday they have a match. Yesterday was his first day. He was a bit intimidated by some of the kids because they seemed older and bigger; he said that he was sad because he couldn’t do any of the moves his dad taught him, too cute! Nevertheless he had so much fun! He can’t wait to go again.
One thing that I didn’t like was that they had a small kiosk that sells snacks; all I saw was junk food and soda drinks. I think for a kids soccer club they should try and promote healthy eating habits by providing healthy snacks and drinks.
If your kids enjoy soccer I would highly recommend you check it out. It’s a great opportunity for them to meet new kids, get some exercise and just have some outdoor fun.

As soon as summer arrives in Kuwait people head straight to the beach/pools. I for one love it but have noticed that the summer heat this year is a bit unbearable even if you are in the water. Mommies to be have to be extra careful. Extra weight in pregnancy along with an increased blood supply whizzing around your body ups your temperature. Combine this with long sunny days and you might find yourself one HOT mama!
Here are a few ways to keep you and your bump cool this summer.
Keep Hydrated, It is really important to drink lots of water. Drink little and often to stop yourself getting dehydrated. Avoid fizzy drinks as they can give you heartburn.
Stay Shady, Keep out of the sun between 10am and 4pm as this is when it’s at its hottest. Wear a sun hat with a wide brim to shade your face and head and most importantly listen to your body as you’ll know when your feeling the heat the most.
Choose Cotton, Go for loose fitting clothes. Cotton or linen will keep you cool.
Slather Lotion, changes in your hormone levels can make your skin super sensitive, so you may find you tan much more easily. Sun lotions are safe to use during pregnancy. Choose one with an SPF of 30 or more and apply it regularly. Small doses of sun is good to boost your vitamin D levels, but have it in moderation.
5 signs that you should watch out for:
*If you start to suffer these symptoms get yourself into the shade, and have a glass of water, sipping it slowly. If the feeling persists when you’re out of the sun and well-hydrated contact your doctors immediately.
