The dirty dozen

As I was walking down the isles of Sultan Center today I was excited about the amount of organic food they are getting, from vegetables and fruit to even baby food. I started purchasing organic products when we lived in the states. I used to love going to Whole Foods, buying fresh vegetables and fruits, cheeses and even personal products such as shampoo and creams. Now, I make sure that my kids eat organic produce whenever I can get them. Nothing beats organic tomatoes!

Some people don’t really see a difference between organic and regular produce, while others think its over priced, especially when you are buying for a big family. If you come to choose between organic and regular there are twelve foods you should be aware of known as the “dirty dozen” These are foods that retain a high level of pesticides even after washing.

The Dirty Dozen Produce Items

  • Nectarines
  • Strawberries
  • Peaches
