The Pumps 4 Kids campaign is to raise funds to provide insulin pumps for children with type 1 diabetes in Kuwait. Insulin Pumps can go a long way towards protecting Diabetic children from the physical and emotional suffering caused by 1,460 insulin injections every year.

Surely with the amount of money and wealth in Kuwait, the parents of the children can finance this for their own children’s health and welbeing? The government? How are they helping? Kuwait has one the highest Type 1 Diabetes rate in young children in the WORLD. This type of diabetes is only normally found in 60+ year old ADULTS!
Considering the population is so small compared to other countries like the USA – is this not an urgent issue that should be adddressed by all in Kuwait?!
Perhaps parents should spend less time in McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Ruby Tuesdays, Chilli’s and TGI Fridays, less time in the shopping malls, less time driving around in their expensive cars, less time sitting their kids in front of the TV and games consoles and actually educate them properly about food and exercise? Instead of asking people via text message to donate money…..charity starts at home afterall!!!!
